Did i mention we live by a Dutch Village?It's an enteratainement park.Also 2 miles down the road there is a train station.Here are some pictures!

With sadness in my heart

I announce that on march 11th,Japan suffered a huge natural disaste,a 9.1 earthquake,followed by a tsunami,which sadly caused damage to a nuclear plant.Time just stopped.We sat at home for 2 days waiting for a tsunami to arrive,unsure what the future held for us.Every movement,noise made me startle.Today march 20th i can say that Sasebo has not been affected at all.Yokosuka is waiting to be voluntarly evacuated,and it is funded if it happends.I hear the street lights are off,the mall is closed,stores,shelves are empty,school might resume on tuesday.I cannot imagine the fear.It's scary enough and we are about 1000 miles away.Ever wondered what tomorrow had in store for you?Well i have.I had a hard time sleeping that night,I kissed the kids goodnight at 1 am and tossed and turned wondering if i would see them when i woke up.God is great,in the morning i couldn't stop being thankful for having them there next to me.I am totally lucky,blessed and thankful and will never take life and faith for granted again.I feel so confused,i have this immense faith in God at the moment,although i just cannot understand why he'd let this happend.I guess it's destiny...I generally freak out,if there is a tornado warning i lose my mind,strangely i am calm,or calmer than i though i ever could be.I have my documents set aside,part of my neo package ready if anything happends.May God bless and look over Japan now more than ever.

Sasebo

Here are a few pics of the small town in Japan we moved to on dec 11th,exactly 3 months ago!
First of all Sasebo is the twin sister town of Alburqueque NM where my awesome sister in law lives

My blog currently requires lots of photos.
First of all the food is amazing.Almost comparable to Italian and Indian food(my biggest loves),ever heard of a sushi go around?Well if not you are missing out.The sushi goes on a conveyer belt and it's extremely cheap.You just pick what you want!

To Thai food with the ladies



Did i mention Japanese have excellent desserts?They are not too sweet,they are heavenly,and sadly bad for your thighs!


And we obviously tried Japanese food too,this particular kind of cooking is called Shabu shabu do to the motion you do in cooking the veggies and meat from side to side in a pot.And yes you cook it yourself!




There are simpler things,and also they love curry!This place is the place for me!THis was was a curry soup(yes I am all about the soups!)They even had naan.I might just move here forever!

JAPAN!or Shapan like Richard says!

A month ago we moved to Japan.Every since we got here we have not had a moment to rest,always something to do,paperwork to get done,places to see,and of course make sure we eat! FOr those who know me i am a HUGE FOOD ADDICT. I love food. I love trying new food, and i like traveling. Sasebo is not a big place according to what i have been told, it's also not very far from Nagasaki, but it is so pretty! Our apartament is on base, located half an hour from Main base,and the building it's called UME tower,which means Plum Flower. From our house we can see a little dutch village, every weekend we get to see free fireworks, and they put out quite a show on New Years eve.
